Stunning waterfront hotel wedding

We finally got to see these two get married! COVID delays, yada yada—it finally happened, and it was spectacular.

It was a chilly day on the water in Burlington, but all the kissing heated things up quickly. The stunning decor, the amazing live band, the beautiful venue…what a lovely way to spend a Saturday.

This stunning hotel had just opened when we were there. The bride and groom had side-by-side suites with massive balconies overlooking the lake, and though it was a windy and chilly day, the view was amazing.

The tables in the massive reception hall was decorated with tall floral centrepieces, raw linen napkins, white and pink roses, and pillar candles. The bride and groom elected to do a room reveal before it was opened up to their guests and the delight on their faces was contagious.

This gem of a human is a dream to work with. The truth is I’d been following her work on Instagram for a few years before we got engaged, and hoped to to hire her for our wedding, but obviously she was several paygrades over our budget. Second-best option was to work with her, which we managed to accomplish in August of 2019 at Alex + Fraser’s wedding.

Scarlet is immensely creative and talented, as well as passionate about her work. It’s easy to see that in the sheer length of the captions on her Instagram posts. The amount of consideration that goes into each one is staggering. There’s a reason she’s on our list of recommended photographers, and that reason is that we’d rather spend our time giggling over tapered candles and wiggling our hips on the dance floor with Scarlet than avoiding another photographer’s angles.
