High-energy country wedding

I always forget how different Peterborough weddings are from Toronto ones. For one—the scenery is stunning. Even ten minutes off the highway, we feel like we’re hours away from the city. Everyone knows everyone, even the vendors, and they all want to tell you about it. 

The Venue | Farmhill Weddings

Farmhill Weddings is only two years old and the design of the venue building is perfect for the views surrounding the property. Roosters, pigs, ducks, cows, dogs and llamas (in that order) welcome guests on either side of the string light–lined driveway leading to the venue. 

There’s a lovely bridal suite at the bottom of the driveway, out of view of the venue in case you were worried about the bride and groom seeing one another. The groom and his boys are posted in a trailer at the bottom of a hill near the venue. No running water, but plenty of space to get into some trouble.

I feel like this dude has DJ’d every wedding we’ve shot in Peterborough. Once, he was even kind enough to call us to let us know we’d left a camera behind when we were halfway home (don’t ask Dennis about that story or he’ll get mad at me all over again). He always gets the vibe right, and he’s the guy with all the gossip about the local players.

We were recommended to Meagan and Taylor by one of last year’s brides, and it was a pleasure to be back in the area. This couple has been together a few years and share three young kids together, who were so delightful. 

But I have to say, the wedding party were determined to be the stars, and we love it. The vibes, the energy, and the sheer volume of love they have for Meagan and Taylor really shine through. We truly love a wedding that we have to tear ourselves away from. (Dennis was saying, “Babe, you have an early flight!” and my response “But they’re dancing on the tables!!”)

Thanks for making our job so easy guys. We can’t wait to share it with everyone.
