Persian-italian fusion wedding in the city

This wedding was a unique fusion of Artin’s Persian background and Laura’s Italian family. It was also a combination of some of our favourite venues: the stunning Steam Whistle venue, the incomparable Trevor from Trevents, and a delicious meal, as always, by The Food Dudes.

What to say about our friend, Trevor? We first met him at a wedding in 2017 at the Royal Ambassador. We’d done maybe four weddings at that point, and Trevor was the first person we saw that day—he kindly held the door open for us while we dragged all our gear in out of the rain.

After that, he recommended us for another wedding only two weeks out, and we’ve worked together at least once a year since. We also hired him in the fall of 2017 to do month-of coordination for our own wedding, and we’ve become great friends. It was a pleasure to witness his wedding and the inevitable impeccable fashion that came with it.

Fun fact: Dennis used to work for the Food Dudes. He even helped cater events at Steam Whistle for them. He spent most of his time with that company running the kitchen at Musik night club at Exhibition Place.

But I digress. The actual fun fact is Food Dudes has some of the best wedding food in the city. I don’t often rave about salads, but I do have dreams about the Rasa Salad (kale, goat cheese, grapes, tomatoes, crispy chick peas). Forgetting the fact that kitchen manager wouldn’t allow me one dinner roll when I was starving before the ceremony, the food was amazing as always.

These two met in college and Laura slid into Artin’s DMs, which, as one of her friend’s says, makes her a pioneer of online dating. After some time abroad and med school, they made it official in a candlelit, city-chic wedding at one of Toronto’s premiere venues.

Laura and Artin were just the sweetest! We can certainly see why they fell in love with one another, and it was lovely to get to know them better through the speeches and stories from their families and friends.
