2019 Reyes Family trip to Europe - It was aboat time we went on vacation!

In October 2019, 11 of us decided to take a European cruise, starting and finishing in Rome. Stops included Florence, Barcelona, Cannes, Palma de Mallorca and the Naples/Amalfi Coast. The ship was Norwegian Epic, and though Dennis and I decided that the cruise life is not for us, we did have a great time. The kids loved the boat and my biggest complaint is that they never wanted to leave the kids’ club for dinner or excursions. It was Dennis’s first time in Europe, and it had been 13 years (I believe) since I was in Italy.

The only thing on my to-do list was to visit Trevi Fountain in the wee hours of the morning. When I arrived in Rome in 2006 with a friend, it was the first landmark we saw, and I immediately fell in love—but there were soooo many people. I told myself I would return one day with my loving partner, with no idea who that might be, and visit at 3 or 4 in the morning when we could have the place to ourselves. I was so happy we were able to do that.

Other highlights include eating at our first Michelin-starred restaurant, Bistrot 64 in Rome; buying our first truffle at the market in Cannes; sangria on the beach in Palma de Mallorca; tapas in Barcelona; and being able to travel with our son, Lennox.
