Canadian National Exhibition | August 2018

The CNE (the Canadian National Exhibition, or The Ex) is a special place for Dennis and I. We had our third or fourth date there, with his cousin Vince tagging along. We ate corn dogs and cotton candy, and I found out I’m weirdly good at the gambling games on the midway. I love fast rides, but Dennis doesn’t so we skipped those. We’ve been back every year since (with the exception of last year, since we were swamped with our upcoming wedding and filming almost every weekend).

This year, we wanted some new pictures to update our website, so we invited our friend Curt Sachs to come with us and get some candid shots of us being us. Curt is an amateur photographer who’s so talented, we’ve been trying to get him to go pro for some time.

And since we wanted photos of us holding and using our cameras, we figured we’d film some of our outing, and then I threw it together in this fun little video. I think, even in the midst of wedding season stress and editing, it’s important to keep doing small projects like this to challenge my creative side. It allows me think outside of my editing box and use the images alone to tell a story. I hope you enjoy it!
